Käpälämäki is a high-quality rental cabin located on a sunny peninsula. This cozy cabin is especially well-suited for relaxed family holidays – pets are also warmly welcome!

67 km north of Heinola, Lake Vähä-Paljo 15 m (0,4 km long and 0,2 km wide), gently sloping sandy beach with a firm bottom, private pier, and rowing boat.

Log villa built in 2025. Spacious living room/kitchen, two bedrooms with two single beds each, and a third bedroom with a 120 cm bed for one person. Wooden sauna, washroom, dressing room, entrance hall, large partially covered terrace, air source heat pump.

At the beach, there’s a grill hut equipped with a traditional Finnish kota-style kitchen. Electric car charging is available (11 kW, Type 2) for an additional fee of 7 EUR/day, paid directly to the owner. Rantala Farm has been renting out holiday cabins for over 50 years. Käpälämäki is a welcoming retreat for families with children, seniors, and of course, dogs – all ready to enjoy the serenity of nature. The cabin is also suitable for small family celebrations. Electric bikes and SUP boards are available for rent.

Rantala Farm cultivates grain and caraway, with some fields set aside for scenic landscapes. The forest is the pride of the farm owner, and the extensive network of forest roads and trails is perfect for walking, hiking, and foraging. The woods are rich with berries and mushrooms. On Rantala Farm, there’s a village-maintained wilderness hut, freely available for visitors to enjoy sausages by the fire or coffee brewed over an open flame.

In winter, groomed ski trails (2–8 km) start just 1 km from the cabin. You can also enjoy downhill skiing at Purnu Ski Resort (5 km), which offers well-maintained ski slopes and a cozy restaurant. The area has easy access to the national snowmobile trail network.

Take the rowing boat out to catch perch near the islet and prepare your fresh catch at the grill hut back at the cabin.

Käpälämäki has been designed with sustainability in mind. The cabin is heated with water-circulating underfloor heating and a fireplace for additional warmth and ambiance. Mechanical ventilation with heat recovery ensures fresh air is delivered efficiently. Energy-saving lightbulbs and energy-efficient appliances are used throughout. In summer, the cabin benefits from electricity produced by the farm’s small solar power plant, installed in 2017. The panels are located on the roof of the former barn and machinery hall.
